Anne de Courcy makes a return to Calcot with her latest book "The Husband Hunters" exploring how a shift in British high society came about, around the end of the 19th Century, with the arrival of a group of young American heiresses.

From 1874- when the first known "Dollar Princess", Jennie Jerome wed Lord Randolph Churchhill - to 1905, dozens like her married into the British peerage, bringing with them the fabulous wealth, glamour and sophistication of the Gilded Age.

The stories of these young women and their families are set in the context of their times.  Based on extensive first-hand research, drawing on diaries, memoirs and letters, this is a richly entertaining group biography.

Anne de Courcy, well-known writer and journalist was formerly Woman's Editor of the London Evening News.  She currently reviews for the Daily Telegraph.

This ticket includes a delicious two course lunch and a glass of wine.

After the talk there will be a book signing and sales session, supported by Mr B's in Bath.
